The Lost Passport at Jaipur Airport: Reunited in 40 Minutes
When British tourists dropped their passport pouch in an auto rickshaw on their way to Jaipur airport, driver Balwinder traced the vehicle before their flight boarded.
John and Sarah Miller had just completed a magical 5-day tour of Rajasthan. While transferring between their hotel and Jaipur International Airport, Sarah accidentally left her travel pouch containing passports and boarding passes in a local auto-rickshaw.
They only noticed when meeting their booked Royal Padharo Cabs driver, Balwinder, at the airport departure gate. Panic set in; their flight to London via Mumbai was scheduled to take off in 2.5 hours.
Balwinder immediately checked the hotel CCTV timestamp via phone, contacted the local police auto booth at Sindhi Camp, and located the auto driver within 25 minutes. Balwinder rushed on his motorcycle, retrieved the pouch with all currencies and documents intact, and handed it directly to Sarah with 45 minutes to spare.
"We were prepared to miss our flight and spend days dealing with embassies. Balwinder's honesty, speed, and helpfulness showed us the true generous heart of Rajasthan." — John Miller
